The Strong X is a high-strength steel tube and like the Super Light 700,
was jointly developed by Nippon Steel and Daiwa. Certified in 2007 as conforming
to Japan's Building Standard Law, it is the only steel tube that complies
to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism's 700N
standard on steel tube strength to date. It is used in various structural
material from construction to agriculture. Also, because of its high-strength
characteristics, it is being used as a quality product in areas where extra
strength is required.
It is "light" and "strong" and yet it is "very economical".
Strong X is a high-tensile steel tube and has about twice the strength
of conventional steel tubes (made of 400N material).
･Since it is "strong", the tube diameter
can be made smaller and still maintain the strength of conventional tubes.
･Since it is "strong", the entire structure can be built strongly.
･Since the weight and size are less than conventional
tubes the transportation cost can be reduced due to use of less tubes.
Also, since the tube diameter is smaller, the paint cost can be reduced
due to less paint surface.
Certification by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism
Strong X acquired certification as a construction material from the Ministry
of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in accordance with the Building
Standards Law, Chapter 37 No. 2. It is the only steel tube of its kind
certified as having a 700N-class tensility.
As a result of being certified by the Ministry...
･It can now be used safely in construction in addition to its conventional
uses in agriculture, civil engineering, and temporary constructions.
･Although the 700N tensility is not set in JIS (Japan Industrial Standard),
users can now use this tube in comfort after the Ministry's certification.
･This certification not only embodies the certification on tube tensility
but also on the quality of galvanization and welding.
It is registered in NETIS.
The product is registered as an excellent technology in the Ministry of
Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's NETIS.*

Comparison with conventional products
Because the Strong X tube has about twice the strength of conventional
tubes, the structures built from them are much stronger than those built
from conventional ones.
